Our Story

It is difficult to pinpoint exactly when the idea of Veritas came to fruition. On paper, some may say it began at the beginning of 2010, however, perhaps it has been in the making since we were in elementary school together, some 20 years ago.
From lemonade stands to lawn mowing businesses, it was easy to see from a young age that the owner mentality was written on our hearts. These experiences helped shape our perspective on work, life, family, and other blessings and how they should fit together in a balanced manner.
Going from elementary through high school together, and then going on to live together in college, our experiences continued to reaffirm our desire to own a business and find true meaning in our work. We didn’t just want to own a business; we wanted to live with a purpose that went beyond ourselves. We wanted to make a positive and lasting impact on people’s lives. Little did we know, we would be pursuing this dream, together.
Our prior work experience provided us with invaluable technical and non-technical experience. But despite all of the great aspects of working at a firm together, there was still something deep inside that was missing from our lives as it related to work. Our entrepreneurial spirit coupled with an inability to control how clients were served made us wonder whether the time was right.
Early in 2010, the romanticized idea of entrepreneurship started to become a reality. For the better half of the year, we began pulling together an initial business plan. Why did we want to do this? What key qualities would define us? What services would we offer? What would be the culture? These were all questions that we had to face.
After many meetings with business mentors and countless napkin brainstorming sessions, Veritas was born. In Latin, Veritas means Truth, and this was exactly what we wanted to see for our clients: a lifetime partnership centered around the idea of providing solid, objective financial advice with complete transparency. There are more important things to life than having to worry every day about financial matters. We want to help you with these issues.
